The summer straw Brent Black Montecristi Aficionado hat is more art for your crown. With its brim slightly wider than the Classic, the Aficionado is made for tilting over one eye (or both). The traditional crown tops a curl that runs three-quarters of the brim circumference, stopped by a turned down front - a nifty extra touch created by Trent Johnson of Greeley Hat Works. Once the master weavers of Montecristi have taken the months necessary to weave the straw into a fine linen feel, the fedoras are shaped, hand-blocked and finished with a leather sweatband and grosgrain ribbon. Time-consuming, yes. Finicky, absolutely. Worth it? You betcha.
