The rationale behind the larger size is to make the skeleton movement more prominent than would have been the case in a smaller watch. Furthermore, this watch is designed as a homage to the very first ladies' watches from the start of the twentieth century which were nothing other than redesigned pocket watches that were worn on the wrist for the very first time.
