It's time for wool hats and caps, and our Fall/Winter 2012 collection is better than ever. Feast your eyes, if you will, on an ivy cap called The Wyatt. From Robert Graham, this gem of a cap is crafted from silk and wool, with contrast panels creating visual interest. It's offered in your choice of two colors, so you'll either have to pick a favorite or order both, like I did. For a wool cap that's blended with equal amounts of cotton, Borsalino brings you

The Etna, gorgeous in a traditional black and white houndstooth pattern. Another new men's cap from Borsalino is The Stromboli, a remarkably soft duckbill ivy cap with a stitched down brim. This cap is made from of blend of 90% wool and 10% nylon knit, and the fit is perfect.
We've gone all exclusive as well as elegant on you this season with a 100% pure cashmere 8/4 newsboy cap. It's called The Exclusive, and it's made by Wigens of Sweden exclusively for Hartford York, with you in mind. The full elk leather brim is double snapped, there's a cushion front and a paisley patterned satin lining. In the same line, you'll find The HY Exclusive, which is a cashmere ball cap that has earflaps that drop down for added warmth, as well as The HY Exclusive Ivy, which is a driver style cap, luxuriant in cashmere.
Noted designer Eugenia Kim of NYC created a small but special collection of exceptionally high quality men's wool caps for us this fall. One of these is The Civil War Cap in cashmere. I've not seen this done before and can reasonably assure you that you'll be one of very few to own this superb creation. Another of these exclusive offers is The Virgilio, a cashmere trooper. This is probably as sumptuous a winter cap as we've come across, with the cashmere body flanked by drop-down earflaps lined in shearling. You're sure to be impressed with this winter cap.
The line-up of impressive wool hats continues with a rex from Borsalino called The Calabria, and includes a storm system ball cap from Wigens. This cap, called The Loro Piana, is made from 100% Italian Loro Piana wool in a fine herringbone pattern and has acetate lining as well as drop-down earflaps. In virgin wool, The Wool Blend Modesto from JB Stetson, is a handsome ivy cap with a stitched down brim. Customers who have purchased this cap say they get compliments and that it's a warm and comfortable quality hat with great workmanship.
For a very traditional tweed walking hat, don't miss The Paddy, a Jonathan Richard stingy brim rex. It's the real deal made of an exceptional wool tweed from one of Ireland's many boutique woolen mills. The same thick and substantial tweed is used by Jonathan Richard in The Motoring, a fully lined newsboy cap with snapped brim, and in The Driver, a classic driving cap from Dublin.
