Tweed hats and caps are perfect when the days turn cooler, and our Fall/Winter 2014 collection has great choices. There's The Lennox, for example, a stingy brim trilby in 100% virgin wool from JB Stetson that features a basketweave pattern and frayed ribbon trim. If it's a tweed newsboy cap you're looking for, The Bakers Boy 2014 might be just the ticket. Made in Paris by Anthony Peto, this full cut woolen cap with single snap front and cotton lining is a Hartford York exclusive that you won't find anywhere else. Another new bakers boy style tweed cap from

Peto this year is called The Montparnasse. This remarkably comfortable, full cut and fully lined newsboy is in a herringbone pattern made from a blend of cashmere, wool and cotton, and it's also exclusive to Hartford York (and you).

JB Stetson has come up with a handful of tweed caps for the season, including The Kennet, a 100% wool basketweave newsboy with sewn down brim, button top and Stetson pin. Finished with a cotton lining and grosgrain sweatband, this cap feels as great on as it looks. You'll have to decide between the two patchwork caps from JB Stetson: there's The Texas, an ivy cap, and The Brooklin, a newsboy cap. Both are made from a variety of patches in different patterns, including wool and tweed, and lined with a fun poker motif lining.

You'll see a few JB Stetson tweed caps back by demand this season including the all wool Herringbone Hatteras as well as The Modesto, a virgin wool ivy cap in a rich herringbone pattern. Both caps are from JB Stetson and get rave reviews that include:

  • Love my new cap. It's warm, comfortable, and looks great. I've got lots of compliments on it already.
  • Well done, Stetson! The Stetson Wool Modesto gets very high marks for quality, workmanship, and fit. It's the perfect hat for my business trips up north and coordinates well with my wool herringbone coat.
  • Borsalino offers The Mario, an 8/4 panel masterpiece of a newsboy cap, crafted from two distinctive and finely woven 100% woolen tweeds so soft you'll swear it's really cotton. The cap is lined with satin and fitted with a grosgrain sweatband for added comfort. Don't forget to eyeball the Harris Tweed caps from Wigens. There's a ball cap and a driver cap, both with hidden earflaps that drop down when you need a little extra protection from the elements.
