The Borsalino newsboy called The Tuscon has got to be one of the best looking eight panel caps I've laid eyes on to date. And I've laid my eyes on some very fine caps, I'll tell you, including the sumptuous Hatteras Silk from Stetson (who also offers the cap, crisp and clean, in pure linen and well as in a splendid cashmere blend. I've also ogled the linen panels of the fully lined Swede (from Wigens) quite shamelessly, I'll tell you, and rarely let their totally conservative pincord out of my line of vision. The Andreas Cap in sublime seersucker gets me singing rather robustly, as does the linen newsboy I fondly call The Stockholm, which comes in a handful of colors including Rad Red, Mustard Yellow, Black Beauty or Pure White.

With their distinctive look, you'd think it would be hard to give newsboys individual characters, but compare (if you will) Stetson's Westport in olive and cranberry plaid with the Tuscan from Borsalino in striped brown. Even newsboys from the same designer and in the same fabrics--like the Edward and the Preston newsboys from Christys'--each have a unique personality. Try 'em on, you'll see.
Of course, I'm of the opinion that any of the Borsalino newsboys, whether it be the elegant and comfortably mesh-lined Luigi or The Amadeo in its subtle plaid are complete visions, and I don't think it's fair ball that the textured linen used in The Garfield Newsboy from Christys' is so darn good-looking in that laid-back sophisticated sort of way. Makes it a bit difficult to select just one cap.
With their distinctive look, you'd think it would be hard to give newsboys individual characters, but this is just what happens and each has its unique personality. Try 'em on, you'll see.
