Warm-weather caps,
like newsboys
and ivys
and ballcaps,
are brought to your head in all materials: linen,
silk
and even cashmere,
with blends
tossed in for good luck and good cheer, and a bit of good measure. You know
the names attached to these caps, certainly: they include Borsalino
and Wigens,
and Christys',
all awaiting your pleasure and wolf whistles. Variations on a theme are abundant,
such as with The Russell's satin
lining, and a hand-finished
brim adorning the very elegant Kip Ivy Cap. A classic
ivy from Wigens is The Dagmar, and I couldn't decide between colors,
so I'll leave it up to you to select from yellow, black, white or red. There
are other Wigens caps to choose from of course: the lovely linen Gunnar Two,
fresh in orange or taupe stripes;
a seersucker
newsboy, completely brilliant in white; and the coolly conversative Buckley
Newsboy
in pincord.

If Christys'
of London floats your boat (along the Thames,
naturally), you'll rejoice in the high
crown of The Garfield Newsboy and the sophisticated look of The Alastair
Fashion Ivy. You might break into song upon sighting that most Definitely
British Raleigh Cap (in houndstooth)
and will certainly be breathless at the impeccable plaid
that is The Edward. For a completely different (and unique) look, the
patchwork
of The Preston Newsboy could be just your cup of spiked tea. There's
a modern linen ivy cap too, with the fully-lined Delancy, which boasts
both leather
trim and brim; and there's a sporty
cap (with mesh lining) in a cool cotton/linen blend, which I like to call The
Piccadilly. Your British flag pin really stands out on The Big Ben Ivy's
broad black pinstripe
but you won't see one on the extremely subtle tone
on tone Kensington or the casual Chelsea cap, with its broad
stripes in natural
.
Wow, I'm a bit breathless now, but in a good way. Maybe I just need a nightcap.
