Kangol hats, like The Gaffer Walking Hat, come in tweed you know, as well as wool blends like The Player, a men's trilby. Did you know they also make hats from bamboo? I'm not lying; check out The Arnold--it's a trilby for women. Of course, Kangol offers their famed caps for women including The Apple Cap and crocheted beret in addition to baseball caps in wool (for men and women). This hat making heavyweight sure doesn't rest on its sterling reputation from past successes (think the Ventair), and both The Kangol Argyle Ivy, a fabulous poly knit, and The Tropic Galaxy Newsboy are prime examples of more inventive takes on classic shapes.

Kangol's gone color mad again, and I dare say you'll have a time selecting only one woolen 504 Ivy Cap from the array offered. Same wonderful problem of selection with The Carrimac, a classic ivy cap in 100% melton wool. At least The Herringbone Newsboy doesn't pose such a dilemma as it's only available in black or olive--you can justify two wee newsboys, now, can't you? Sadly, the poly knit Ventair 504 Ivy Cap (the cap that shot Kangol into the headwear stratosphere) comes in an embarrassing variety of colors including black, natural, navy, white, brown, and skid master blue, and as I'm obviously unable to choose just one, I leave the decision up to you. Now that's what I call shopping!
For those of you who live in chilly climes, why not plan ahead and pick up a women's sun visor, or lightweight cloche and perhaps a cap for warm weather to come? As my sainted mother often said: "You can never have too many sun hats." Truth be told, though, I don't think she meant me to wear The Sweetcorn Siren, but there you are. Pre-planning is a highly underrated shopping tool, one I recommend thoroughly. (I always read the last page first, too.)
