Oh, don't get me started on fedoras. With Panama and Baku straw summer hats, and finely handwoven dress hats in ramie and hemp, (some with open weave, others with stingy brims) and even fedoras in porkpie style, I could go on forever. (Okay, then, I will--and thanks for asking.) If you haven't experienced the thrill of a Makins topper on your pate, like the The Central Park in sunshine yellow, The St Marks Place in burgundy red or the two tone ramie lid with contrast band, you've been cruelly denied several life enhancing moments.

Fedoras comes in all shapes, colors and sizes: from the traditional Safari (which is offered in a broad brim version too) and classic river-boat gamblers, to fine western and rancher hats from Milano (like The Cowboy, authentic and cool in unlined straw). I've actually managed to find an outback-style fedora, an honest-to-goodness Survivor Panama, as well as an updated 30s homburg for this year's collection (please, no phone calls -- you can thank me by buying). Whether you choose The Saratoga (with its braided jute hatband), The Jamaican (with its tropical look and grosgrain band) or the vented San Lorenzo from Scala's line of Grade 3 Panamas, you can rest assured you're getting a quality hat from true artisans who take pride in their work.
As much as I embrace other hat shapes, fedora ownership is crucial to bettering the human condition. I just made that up, 'cuz I really like fedoras and I hope you do too.
