For instance, a Toby Keith hat like The Outback can never be mistaken for The Longhorn, (you know, the Scala cowboy hat that was featured in Cowboy Magazine) although both are great-looking western hats. And that standard of perfection just doesn't make any easier to choose, does it? I mean how is a grown man supposed to select between the Gentleman Rancher and The Aficionado, both exemplary dress westerns from Greeley, without being reduced to tears? It looks like a conspiracy is afoot, because you'll see precisely the same dilemma with Milano's Black Diamond and their El Presidente (also in black of course) in Grade 50X fur felt with an exquisite 24 carat gold buckle set studded with diamond chips. Being an equal-opportunity hat company, Milano also makes it nearly impossible for you to choose between their straw hats: first, there's the classic El Jefe, with its diamond-shaped vents and ostrich leather trim; then they offer the hand woven Riviera, a masterpiece of western hat craftsmanship with genuine Caiman alligator band.
Greeley goes singular (and back in time!) to bring us The Gus, a western hat style that men and women have been wearing since the late 19th century. They also throw a little updated fedora styling in The Levert, another dress western that's stand-out distinctive. Even though you might not immediately associate Henschel with cowboys and westerns, not too many hats can beat their oiled cowhide Dude for the man of action (real or imaginary).
Hat trim and brim size (three inch or four inch) can make all the difference in your choice of a hat: the TK Raffia becomes extraordinary with its tooled and grommeted faux leather trim, while those of his cowboy hats with the plain feather band and the feathered band with suede are truly outstanding. The Firebrand, with its muted suede trim and real Toby Keith firebrand, artistically combines the disparate elements that make up the archetypal cowboy, and it takes the Stitched Crown and Whiskey hats to keep it all clean and simple.
