Nothing like cotton caps and canvas hats to announce the arrival of spring or summer! (Unless it's linen and silk caps, but I'm not talking about those right now.) Getting firmly back on track, let's take The DaVinci, a new walking hat from Borsalino. In casual bucket hat style, the crosshatch pattern is on a material that is a blend of 80% cotton with 20% linen. A solid tonal trim anchors the colors in this unlined hat very well. mesh lining. The material in this case is made from an exquisite blend of 55% linen and 45% summer weight wool. It's called The Silvio and I predict it'll be a great new favorite this season.
Believe it or not, The Collective stingy brim fedora is made from a blend of cotton and polyester. The braid hat is finished with a suede band and overlay and also features roped piping, applique and an Abraxas Angel pin. The 1 3/4 inch brim is bound, and the charro suede leather sweatband adds comfort. Impeccable style from Santana by Carlos Santana. If it's a driver cap you're after, The Fortune--a handwoven cotton ivy cap finished with a satin lining that features an Abraxas Angel print--might be just the ticket.
The Ravi is another great example of a warm weather hat. This trilby by Robert Graham is a cotton and linen blend stingy brim fedora in plaid patchwork. The details in the hat are outstanding, and include a multi-color sweat with pick stitching, a printed rayon lining with an embroidered crest in the tip. One of our most requested summer hats is from Scala. Called The Diamond Head, it's a 100% brushed cotton hat with mesh sides to catch every breeze. It's got a sun-shielding 3 inch brim and is packable for easy travel.
