I've already worked (to great advantage) the long sleeve men's cotton shirt, The Kaukura from Robert Graham, which I tend to wear with the cuffs folded back to show the contrast pattern. That being said, my favorite Tommy Bahama long sleeve shirt this season (called The Easy Breezer) is fine too. It's a plain weave in washed linen and there's just never been a more comfortable shirt for every day wear: it fits loose; it fits cool and it comes in a handful of summertime shades. That's not to say that I don't feel something akin to joy when viewing The Matador shirt from Robert Graham. That shirt for men is simply a festival of colors in alternating stripes of jacquard fabric.

There's another Robert Graham shirt that leaves me pretty much speechless too. It's called The Python, and when you see its all-over floral jacquard print with sewn-in embroidered vertical panels on the front, and rich floral embroidery in the sleeve cuffs and surrounding the collar, your jaw will be excused for dropping. The Python is a long sleeve shirt, and is available in a deep, rich navy blue or a summer white.

Nothing like Nat Nast for summer shirts, either. If you haven't seen The Heavyweights On The Green shirt, you're missing a little bit of American history (plus a couple of guaranteed compliments, sure to be yours in this 100% silk short sleeve embroidered shirt). While you're browsing, check out another Nat Nast silk shirt, this one called The Diamond Jack. It's a short sleeve men's shirt too and all gussied up with pick stitching, embroidered diamonds and a sewn panel on front. A real winner.

A short sleeve shirt that deserves a close look is one from Tommy Bahama, called The Coral Gardens. This shirt, with its malibu collar, is in a pigment-printed silk gingko jacquard. The entire look is subdued cool on a hot day. For an interesting blend of material and texture, Tommy Bahama proffers The Windward Palms, a printed silk and cotton basket weave short sleeve shirt with one piece babalou collar and decorative stitch details. Goes great with jeans.
